Prior to co-founding LiveOak, Venu joined Austin Ventures in 1999 and was a General Partner there since 2005. At Austin Ventures, he worked with companies focused on Enterprise Solutions (LifeSize Communications - NASDAQ: LOGI, Sipera Systems), Communications Infrastructure (Spatial Wireless - NASDAQ: ALU, Navini Networks - NASDAQ: CSCO, Mavenir Systems), Semiconductors (Black Sand Technologies), Technology enabled services (Verisilicon Holdings) and infrastructure and mobile software. Prior to joining Austin Ventures, he was with McKinsey & Co. serving clients in the enterprise systems and software markets. He started his professional career as a software developer and engineering lead at Mentor Graphics.
Venu received his MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business, MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BS in Electronics and Communications engineering from Osmania University, India.
Venu is one of the founding members and currently serves on the board of Directors of TiE-Austin. He is also a founding board member of Austin Speech Labs - a non-profit focused on providing affordable speech and cognitive therapy for stroke survivors.
Prior to co-founding LiveOak, Krishna joined Austin Ventures in 2000 and was a Partner there since 2006. At Austin Ventures, he worked with companies focused on Enterprise Solutions (Augmentix, Entorian - NASDAQ: ENTN, Caringo), Communications Infrastructure (Spatial Wireless - NASDAQ: ALU, Mavenir Systems), Semiconductors (Black Sand Technologies, Pyxis) and Clean-tech (Astrowatt, Coldwatt - Nasdaq: FLEX). Prior to joining Austin Ventures, Krishna was with Motorola where he worked with a variety of business units on strategic and operational issues. He started his professional career at SEMATECH.
Krishna received his MBA from Wharton where he graduated with highest academic honors as a Palmer Scholar. He also has an MS in Operations Research from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, where he graduated with the highest all-round honors.
Krishna previously served as a board member of TiE Austin and currently serves as Chairman of the Miracle Foundation board, an Austin-based organization that supports orphanages in India.
Prior to co-founding LiveOak, Ben Scott joined Austin Ventures in 2001 as a Venture Partner. He has been active-Chairman at Spatial Wireless - NASDAQ: ALU, Navini Networks - NASDAQ: CSCO, Mavenir Systems, 7x24 solutions, Sipera Systems and Active Power. Prior to joining Austin Ventures, he served as chairman and CEO for IXC Communications, an international broadband and Internet backbone provider which merged with Cincinnati Bell to became Broadwing Communications. Before IXC, Ben was president and CEO of PrimeCo Personal Communications. Previously, he held positions as chief operating officer of Bell Atlantic's U.S. wireless business and CEO of its international wireless business. Earlier, Ben spent 20 years at AT&T, ending his tenure as president and CEO of AT&T Canada.
Ben received his BA from Virginia Tech.
Joe Marengi | Advisor
Joe Marengi is a Venture Partner at Austin Ventures. He has been on the boards of LifeSize Communications - NASDAQ: LOGI, Augmentix, Entorian - NASDAQ: ENTN and Coldwatt - NASDAQ: FLEX with the Partners of LiveOak Venture Partners. In addition, Joe has served on the public company boards of Vignette (NASDAQ: VIGN), Quantum (NYSE: QTM) and Hovanian (NYSE: HOV). Prior to joining Austin Ventures, Joe was with Dell for 10 years where he was an SVP/GM of Dell Americas. Joe came to Dell from Novell, where he was President and COO.
Joe received a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a Master's degree from the University of Southern California.
